About the Role

South32 is hiring a permanent Specialist Local Sourcing for its Cannington silver and lead operation in north-west Queensland, via McKinlay. The role works a 4:3 day-shift roster that mixes time on site with some work from home. You can fly in and out from Brisbane or Townsville, or drive in and out from the Mount Isa, Cloncurry and McKinlay shires. You will deliver commercial value and cut supply risk through sourcing advice and end-to-end category management. The advert closes on 13 November 2026.

Key Responsibilities

• Build sourcing plans and run tenders, negotiations and contract awards
• Track supplier performance, sort out issues and manage contract variations
• Work with stakeholders to define scopes and secure governance approvals
• Find market opportunities and support local and Indigenous procurement targets
• Help manage contracts and resolve disputes

About You

• At least three years in a similar sourcing or category management role
• Skill in contract drafting, negotiation and assessing commercial risk
• Clear communication and strong working relationships with stakeholders
• Hands-on use of SAP and Ariba Sourcing and Contracts
• A bachelor's degree in commerce, supply chain or law, or relevant post-secondary study
• MCIPS is an advantage
