BHP is hiring a Specialist Environment for its Western Australia Iron Ore operations in the Pilbara. This is a permanent full-time, site-based position flying in and out of Perth on an 8 days on, 6 days off roster, reporting to the Environment Superintendent. You will be the environmental point of contact for operational teams, turning approvals, legislation and monitoring data into practical guidance on the ground. Key Responsibilities
- Giving environmental guidance to operational teams by interpreting approvals, legislation and technical data
- Managing environmental risk through governance, assurance and coaching on controls
- Driving improvement initiatives and projects that lift environmental performance
- Scoping, coordinating and reviewing environmental monitoring and biodiversity programs
- Leading environmental incident reporting and corrective actions
- Preparing technical reports, regulatory submissions and stakeholder communications
About You
- Tertiary qualification in Environmental Science, Environmental Management or a related field
- Experience managing environmental programs in mining, heavy industry or consulting
- Working knowledge of State and Commonwealth environmental legislation and approvals
- Confident with GIS applications and Microsoft Office
- Current Western Australian C Class driver's licence
