About the Role

Gold Fields is looking for a Senior Process Operator to act as 2IC and leading hand in the processing plant at its owner-operated Granny Smith gold mine near Laverton in Western Australia. The role is FIFO from Perth on a rotating roster of 8 days on and 6 off for day shift, and 7 on and 7 off for night shift. You will report to the Process Shift Supervisor, cover for them when needed, and help the crew hit recovery and throughput targets safely.

Key Responsibilities

  • Step in for the Process Shift Supervisor and coordinate daily tasks across the process crew
  • Operate, monitor and optimise plant and equipment across every processing area
  • Lead troubleshooting on shift and respond to plant and equipment abnormalities
  • Complete inspections, log sheets, reports and production data
  • Train and mentor less experienced Process Operators
  • Work with the metallurgy and maintenance teams to lift plant performance

About You

  • Solid mineral processing experience, ideally in gold and ideally at 2IC or leading hand level
  • Knowledge of the full gold circuit, including crushing, grinding, CIL/CIP, gravity, elution, electrowinning and tailings
  • Confidence with plant control systems and fault diagnosis
  • Leadership skills and a genuine interest in coaching others
  • A Statutory Supervisor Certificate (S26) is an advantage
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office and SAP, and a current manual C class driver's licence
