About the Role
WesTrac is hiring a Heavy Duty Mechanic to work as a Drill Specialist in its Diggers and Drills Support team, which looks after Cat drill fleets and hydraulic mining shovels across Western Australia. This is a FIFO role with roster options including 8/6 and 2/1 on 12-hour shifts. Reporting to the Drills Supervisor, you will be the technical link between WesTrac and its customers on mine sites.
Key Responsibilities
- Diagnose and resolve complex faults on Cat drill equipment
- Support preventative maintenance, shutdowns and breakdowns
- Give technical input into maintenance planning
- Mentor technicians through on-the-job training
- Provide specialist support across several customers and mine sites
About You
- A heavy duty mechanic trade qualification
- An HR licence
- 10 or more years of post-trade mining experience
- Strong Cat drill product knowledge is preferred
- Five or more years of OEM or Cat dealer experience is preferred
- Advanced hydraulic and electrical diagnostic skills and the ability to lead customer maintenance teams
