About the Role
AngloGold Ashanti is looking for Mechanical Fitters to join the maintenance team at Sunrise Dam Gold Mine near Laverton in Western Australia. The role is on an 8/6 FIFO roster, with direct flights to site from Perth and Kalgoorlie. You will report to the Mechanical Maintenance Supervisor and spend most of your time keeping the processing plant running.
Key Responsibilities
- Carry out fitting, machining, inspections, fabrication and preventative maintenance in the mill area
- Maintain crushers, conveyors, pumps, pipework, ball mills, concentrators, screens, feeders, cyclones, cranes and hoists
- Work on tanks, launders and steelwork around the plant
- Help out with mechanical jobs at the accommodation village, the mine and the bore fields
- Cover rostered night shifts for breakdowns
- Support the planning and running of shutdowns
About You
- Trade qualification as a Fitter and Machinist or Welder, with solid fitting experience
- Maintenance experience in mineral processing or heavy industrial plant, ideally gold
- Comfortable working with noise, dust, heights, confined spaces, heat and slurry
- Good computer skills and a current WA C class driver's licence
- Permanent working rights in Australia and the ability to obtain a National Police Clearance
