About the Role
Vale Base Metals is hiring a Maintenance Technician, Industrial Electrician for the Utilities Maintenance Team at its Voisey's Bay nickel mine in northern Labrador, Canada. Voisey's Bay is a fly-in fly-out operation, and this is a permanent on-site position on a rotation of 2 weeks on and 2 weeks off. You will look after the electrical side of the site's utilities and supporting plant.
Key Responsibilities
- Repair, troubleshoot, adjust, overhaul and service electrical equipment across the powerplant, paste plant, booster station, and the water and wastewater treatment plants
- Carry out preventive checks on equipment such as ventilation fans, the ship loader, pumps, conveyors, PLCs and diesel motors
- Test and adjust repaired systems to manufacturer specifications
- Write breakdown and corrective maintenance reports
- Take part in failure analysis to improve equipment availability
About You
- A college diploma in Industrial Electrician
- An Interprovincial Industrial Electrician Red Seal. A Construction Electrician Red Seal with heavy industrial maintenance experience may be considered
- At least 4 years of experience as an industrial electrician
- Mining, heavy industrial or maintenance experience is an asset
- Flexible and comfortable working as part of a team
