Lead Mine Surveyor | Prominent Hill | 8/6 FIFO

About the Role

BHP is looking for a Lead Mine Surveyor at Prominent Hill, a long life copper and gold mine in South Australia that forms part of BHP's Copper South Australia province. The role is advertised as FIFO on an 8/6 roster. You will lead the site survey team and play a central part in planning and delivering underground mine development and production.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead, coach and develop a team of mine surveyors
• Spend regular time in the field and carry out field leadership to confirm critical controls are working
• Set and maintain safe, effective work practices and standards for the survey department
• Deliver accurate and timely underground survey work, including control infrastructure and check traverses
• Keep mine plans current for internal use and for regulators, and manage statutory survey compliance
• Provide survey inputs to end of month reporting and take part in incident investigations

About You

• A tertiary qualification in surveying
• Significant underground mine surveying experience and a strong grasp of underground mining methods
• Experience with Deswik software, including MDM, and end of month processes
• A current SA driver's licence or equivalent
• Clear communication skills and a genuine commitment to safety leadership
• Willingness to complete pre-employment checks such as a medical, drug and alcohol testing and right to work checks
