Heavy Diesel Mechanic | Gudai-Darri near Newman | 8/6 and 7/7 FIFO
WesTracAbout the Role
WesTrac is hiring a Heavy Diesel Mechanic to support the Caterpillar fleet at the Gudai-Darri mine site near Newman in the Pilbara. The role is FIFO from Perth on an alternating roster of 8 days on, 6 days off and 7 nights on, 7 off, working 12.5-hour shifts with a 30-minute unpaid break. You join the on-site WesTrac team keeping some of the largest autonomous mining equipment in the country productive.
Key Responsibilities
- Service, troubleshoot and repair CAT 793F autonomous haul trucks, 6040 and 6060 hydraulic excavators, 992 and 994 wheel loaders, D10 and D11 dozers, 789 autonomous water carts and MD6250 and MD6310 drills
- Complete fleet audits and condition reporting
- Process warranty claims and prepare monthly reports
- Work to WesTrac and site safety standards at all times
About You
- Australian-recognised Heavy Mobile Plant trade certificate or equivalent
- Experience maintaining large mining fleets: trucks, loaders, dozers and graders
- Experience with fleet audits on a mine site
- Caterpillar product knowledge is preferred
- Comfortable using SAP
- A continuous improvement mindset
