About the Role
Hastings Deering, the Caterpillar dealer for the Northern Territory and Queensland, is hiring Field Service Diesel Mechanics for its mining field service team. The work is permanent and full-time at a Northern Territory mine site, flying out of Darwin on a rotating roster of four days on and three days off. All site travel is paid. The posting closes 16 October 2026.
Key Responsibilities
- Give breakdown, diagnostic and warranty support on Caterpillar equipment
- Carry out scheduled servicing, repairs and general support work
- Prioritise jobs so the customer loses as little production as possible
- Keep service quality and documentation to a high standard
About You
- A relevant trade qualification
- Experience on CAT heavy machinery and CAT diagnostic systems
- Strong fault finding and diagnostic skills
- A firm commitment to health and safety
- Able to work independently and use your initiative
- Good communication, documentation and time management
- Able to pass two reference checks, a National Police Check and a medical
