Electrical Reliability Engineer | Carrapateena | 8/6 FIFO

About the Role

BHP is recruiting an Electrical Reliability Engineer for its Carrapateena underground copper-gold mine in South Australia. The role works an 8 days on, 6 days off FIFO roster, with flights from Adelaide (about 60 minutes) and Port Augusta (about 30 minutes). You will own the reliability of the fixed plant electrical assets and work alongside the maintenance teams to lift their performance. Applications close 5pm Monday 5 October 2026.

Key Responsibilities

• Support the reliability and performance of fixed plant electrical assets across the operation
• Make sure designs and modifications meet safety, reliability and compliance standards
• Partner with maintenance teams on asset performance improvements and defect elimination
• Identify electrical asset risks and put controls in place
• Coordinate improvement initiatives and bring in specialists where needed
• Support engineering standards and governance on site

About You

• IEAust-recognised degree in Electrical Engineering
• Operational experience in electrical or instrumentation engineering in heavy industry
• Structured problem-solving and troubleshooting skills
• Working knowledge of asset and risk management and of CMMS, EAM or ERP systems, with SAP highly regarded
• A strong personal commitment to safety
