About the Role
Mitchell Services is hiring driller assistants for its surface and underground drilling crews as both divisions continue to grow. You will work alongside experienced drillers and help keep drilling operations running safely. The role is on either a 2 weeks on, 2 weeks off roster or a 14 days on, 7 days off roster, flying in and out from an agreed airport. These are full-time roles at client sites.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist drillers with day-to-day drilling operations
- Carry out pre-start checks thoroughly before every shift
- Help keep breakages and down-hole losses to a minimum
- Mark up samples such as core accurately, including orientation where needed
- Report incidents straight away and record hazards, near misses and improvement ideas
About You
- Previous experience working as a driller's offsider
- HR licence for surface roles, held or able to obtain quickly
- Open manual car licence for underground roles
- Able to obtain a National Police Clearance
- Good physical fitness and able to pass a functional assessment
