Charge Up Operator | Granny Smith near Laverton | 8/6 and 7/7 FIFO

About the Role

Gold Fields is hiring a Charge Up Operator for the underground mine at Granny Smith, its owner-operated gold operation near Laverton in Western Australia. The position is FIFO from Perth on a rotating roster of 8 days on and 6 off for day shift and 7 on and 7 off for night shift. Reporting to the Supervisor Underground Production, you will charge and fire development and production blasts as part of a high-performing underground crew.

Key Responsibilities

• Charge development rounds and production stopes
• Handle and transport explosives in line with regulations and site procedures
• Tie up and prepare blasts accurately and safely
• Carry out pre-blast and post-blast inspections and maintain firing lines
• Maintain charge-up equipment and report defects
• Keep high safety and housekeeping standards with the wider underground crew

About You

• Substantial underground mining experience, with charge-up or service crew exposure highly regarded
• Experience with emulsion and ANFO
• A WA Shotfirer's licence, or willingness to obtain one
• A WA Dangerous Goods Security Card and Working at Heights
• A current manual C class driver's licence
• Mechanical aptitude and the fitness for physically demanding underground work
