About the Role

Westfill is building a crew of experienced underground service and charge up operators for a new WA project that starts in November 2026. The role is full time on a 2:2 roster, flying in and out of Perth, with ongoing work and fortnightly pay. The ad quotes pay from $800 per shift plus super, depending on experience and the site.

Key Responsibilities

  • Install mine services such as vent fans, vent doors, escapeways and pump stations
  • Carry out general service crew work, including face preparation
  • Charge development headings to the blast plan and handle explosives safely
  • Check blast holes, connect detonators and keep blast records up to date
  • Operate light vehicles, IT machines and charge up equipment underground
  • Work with the surface, mining and engineering teams to deliver the project safely

About You

  • Underground mining experience, with service crew work essential
  • At least two years in an underground charge up role, including ANFO
  • A development charge up ticket or shotfirer certificate for the jurisdiction, plus a dangerous goods card
  • A manual driver's licence and RPLs for IT and LV
  • Sound knowledge of underground regulations and explosives handling, and comfort in confined, physical work
  • Handheld airleg experience is a bonus
  • The role is FIFO from Perth only, so applicants outside WA need to travel to Perth for each swing
