About the Role
Macmahon is looking for All-Round Operators to join its production crews on the surface mining operation at Tropicana, the gold mine north east of Kalgoorlie in Western Australia. The roster is 2/1 across day and night shifts, FIFO from Perth or Kalgoorlie. You will run heavy ancillary and production equipment to hit the site's production targets safely, as part of a crew that works closely together every shift.
Key Responsibilities
- Operate heavy ancillary and production mining equipment safely and efficiently
- Complete pre-start checks and report hazards or defects straight away
- Follow mine plans, instructions and traffic management rules
- Keep your work area tidy and interact safely with other teams
- Share knowledge and help teammates to build a strong crew culture
About You
- Mining experience across a range of equipment, for example:
- Dozers such as CAT D11, D10 and the 854K wheel dozer
- Loaders such as CAT 993 and 992
- Graders such as CAT 18M and 16M
- Dump trucks such as the CAT 793F
- Large excavator experience (CAT 6060 or 6040, Hitachi 5600) is highly regarded but not essential
- A strong safety focus, the confidence to speak up and a reliable team mindset
