About the Role

Gold Fields is looking for an Underground HD Fitter to join the mobile maintenance team at the Granny Smith gold mine near Laverton in WA's northern Goldfields. The role is FIFO from Perth on an 8/6 and 7/7 roster covering day and night shifts, with a direct one hour flight to Laverton. Granny Smith is owner-operated and runs a modern underground fleet of CAT, Epiroc and Sandvik equipment, maintained from well set up underground and surface workshops.

Key Responsibilities

  • Service, maintain and repair heavy underground mining equipment
  • Carry out preventative maintenance, fault finding and breakdown repairs
  • Read and work from hydraulic systems and schematics
  • Work safely within site procedures alongside operators and other trades

About You

  • Australian recognised heavy mechanical trade qualification or Certificate III in Mobile Plant Technology
  • Hands-on experience on heavy mining equipment, underground preferred
  • Valid WA manual driver's licence
  • Automotive air conditioning licence, forklift, EWP, basic rigging and dogging are desirable
  • SAP exposure is a plus
  • Surface fitters and recently qualified tradespeople are encouraged to apply
