Trainee Process Operator | Gruyere near Laverton | 8/6 and 7/7 FIFO

About the Role

Gold Fields is taking on Trainee Process Operators at the Gruyere gold mine near Laverton. This is a 12 month fixed-term traineeship on a FIFO roster of 8 days on and 6 off, then 7 nights on and 7 off. Trainees learn the processing plant alongside experienced operators, and those who complete the program can move into a permanent Gold Fields role. Applications close 13 October 2026.

Key Responsibilities

• Learn to run and monitor crushers, mills, leach tanks and elution circuits
• Get exposure to control room operation and plant performance monitoring
• Operate mobile equipment such as IT loaders, Bobcats and forklifts
• Take slurry samples, run basic process checks and handle reagents safely
• Help with shutdown maintenance, plant cleaning and housekeeping
• Enter operational data and take part in toolbox talks and safety initiatives

About You

• A real interest in learning and a positive attitude
• A strong commitment to safety and teamwork
• Good communication skills and basic computer literacy
• Current C class driver's licence, manual preferred
• Fit for outdoor work in all weather, manual handling and working at heights
• Experience on mobile equipment or in labouring work is highly regarded but not essential
