About the Role
Teck is hiring a Laborer, Sample Preparation Technician at the Red Dog Mine in northwest Alaska. Access to the site is fly in, fly out, and the rotation is two weeks on site followed by two weeks off. This is a regular full-time role supporting the mill and the site laboratory with sample collection and preparation. Applications close on 11 November 2026.
Key Responsibilities
- Collect samples from the mill and bring them in for preparation
- Prepare samples and run the crushing equipment
- Carry out moisture and TOC sample preparation
- Learn to run XRF assays as you build experience
- Log every sample accurately
- Dispose of waste in line with regulations
About You
- A high school diploma, including mathematics (science is preferred)
- Around six months of relevant experience is preferred
- Comfortable working night shifts and working alone
- Able to lift between 30 and 75 lb from time to time
- Able to wear full PPE, including a respirator
- Able to pass a drug test
