About the Role
Gold Fields is looking for a Geologist, Projects at the Gruyere gold mine, east of Laverton in Western Australia. The role leads mine geology projects for the open pit, from grade control drilling through to reconciliation, and includes mentoring junior geologists. It is a permanent position on an 8/6 roster, FIFO from Perth. Applications close on Monday 19 October 2026.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead mine geology projects that support safe and efficient open pit production
- Carry out geological interpretation, orebody modelling and grade control
- Run grade control RC drilling from pattern design through to sampling and QAQC
- Plan, manage and supervise diamond drilling programs that feed resource growth
- Reconcile production performance against geological models
- Work with mining, planning and technical services teams to improve ore recovery and reduce dilution
About You
- Degree in geology or a related discipline
- Proven open pit mine geology experience, ideally in gold
- Strong grade control, mapping and ore mark-up skills
- Good knowledge of sampling, QAQC and geological data management
- Able to mentor junior geologists
- Current manual driver's licence
