About the Role

Evolution Mining is hiring a Leading Hand for the underground mobile maintenance team at its Mungari gold operation near Kalgoorlie. The role works a 7/7 roster and can be done FIFO from Perth or as a residential Kalgoorlie position. You will report to the Underground Maintenance Supervisor and lead a crew of tradespeople on the underground fleet. It suits an experienced underground fitter ready to step up, or a current Leading Hand wanting a long-term role at a site with a mine life to at least 2038.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and coordinate a maintenance crew through planned and breakdown work on the underground mobile fleet
  • Keep fleet availability and reliability on target and cut downtime
  • Work with supervisors and planners on the maintenance schedule and daily priorities
  • Coach and mentor tradespeople and check work quality against site standards
  • Run clean shift handovers and keep maintenance records accurate and on time
  • Lead by example on safety, hazard identification and risk management, and support root cause investigations

About You

  • Australian recognised Heavy Diesel Fitter trade qualification
  • Experience maintaining underground mobile mining equipment
  • Leading Hand or leadership experience in a mining maintenance team
  • S26 examination and associated risk modules completed
  • Current Australian driver's licence
  • S1, S2 and S3 or equivalent frontline management qualifications highly regarded
