Exploration Geologist | St Ives near Kambalda | 8/6 FIFO

About the Role

Gold Fields is hiring a Geologist for its exploration team at St Ives near Kambalda in Western Australia's Goldfields. The role works 8 days on and 6 days off, either FIFO from Perth or residential in Kambalda or Kalgoorlie, with bus transport for residential staff. You will report to the Senior Geologist Exploration and help move targets from early projects through resource definition drilling to handover to production. Applications close on 10 November 2026.

Key Responsibilities

• Fieldwork on drill rigs, often remote and on your own, to keep programs on track
• Geological and structural logging of diamond core and RC and AC chips
• Update sections and maps with new drilling
• Enter and validate logging data
• Select samples and plan and review QAQC
• Liaise daily with drill contractors and track drilling and sample dispatch
• Use geological and geophysical data to help interpret results

About You

• A Bachelor of Science in Geology, with honours preferred
• Exploration experience in orogenic gold systems is highly desirable
• A valid manual driver's licence
• Microsoft Office skills, with GIS, database and 3D software exposure highly regarded
• Self driven and keen to grow as a geologist
