About the Role
Gold Fields is looking for a Dewatering Technician at its Granny Smith underground gold mine near Laverton, in the WA Goldfields. Reporting to the Electrical Leading Hand, you will help keep the Wallaby underground mine dewatered safely and efficiently. This is a permanent role on a rotating roster of 8 days on and 6 off, then 7 nights on and 7 off. You can fly in and out from Perth or drive in and out from the Goldfields region.
Key Responsibilities
- Install, monitor, service and repair dewatering infrastructure, including diesel and electric pumps
- Carry out preventative maintenance on the underground dewatering system
- Fault-find, diagnose and repair damaged pumps and pipework
- Maintain ancillary equipment and site infrastructure
- Coordinate unplanned work that comes up during the week
- Review maintenance processes and suggest newer technology where it helps
About You
- Proven fixed plant maintenance experience, ideally underground
- Valid WA manual driver's licence
- Basic Microsoft Office skills, with SAP an advantage
- Knowledge of the statutory obligations that apply to the role
- HR licence, crane, dogging, EWP and forklift tickets are a plus
